On November 14, gantry cranes were lifting containers at Xi’anguojigang Railway Station. In 2013, Xi’an dispatched its first CRE train. Today, this hub has ranked first nationwide for several consecutive years in key indicators such as train operations, freight volume and loaded-container rate. As the departure point of the CRE train (Xi’an), Xi’anguojigang Railway Station—located in the Chanba International Port area of Xi’an in Shaanxi—has completed 59 railway operation tracks and a central container station with three yards and six tracks. It is designed for an annual container throughput of 5.4 million TEUs. A number of Eurasia-oriented trade and transport projects, including the Kazakhstan-Xi’an terminal, have been completed and put into operation, accelerating the station’s development into a modern international commercial and logistics hub.
