CR Transported 3.03 Billion Tons of Cargo in the First Three Quarters

As of the first three quarters of this year, CR transported a total of 3.03 billion tons of cargo, a 3.4% year-on-year increase. The continuous optimization and upgrading of logistics products have helped reduce logistics costs across society.

First, the transport of key materials has been effectively secured. Green channels were opened for coal, smelting materials and grain, ensuring efficient delivery. From January to September, CR transported 1.553 billion tons of coal, including 1.056 billion tons of thermal coal, maintaining high inventory levels at power plants directly supplied by rail. The transport of smelting materials and grain increased by 9.4% and 10.8% year on year, respectively.

Second, the quality of railway logistics services has been upgraded. Following the implementation of a new train operation diagram in the third quarter, the number of inter-regional container train routes increased to 453, up 17.1% year on year. Transport efficiency has been effectively guaranteed, and growing market demand has driven a steady rise in container bookings. In the first three quarters, CR transported 12.778 million TEUs via rail-water intermodal services, marking a 16.9% year-on-year increase.

Third, cross-border freight transport has remained stable and smooth. In the first three quarters, 14,500 CRE trains were operated; 10,800 China-Central Asia trains were launched, a 22.8% year-on-year increase; and 4.13 million tons of cross-border goods were shipped via the China-Laos Railway, up 10.4% year on year, effectively promoting international trade and economic exchanges.
