At 6:06 a.m. on November 5, the first C7001 high-speed train operating at 200 km/h departed smoothly from Guangzhoudong Railway Station, marking the full completion of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway upgrade project.

　　The 147-kilometer Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway connects the three core cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area: Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen. For many years, the line operated at 160 km/h, limiting its full capacity potential. Following the upgrade, the maximum operating speed has been raised to 200 km/h. Starting November 5, 178 trains run daily, with peak-hour intervals as short as five minutes, forming a dense departure network.
